DHANGADHI, FEBRUARY 27

The special national convention of the Tharuhat-Tharuwan National Front has begun in Kailali district, on Saturday.

The convention, scheduled for Saturday and Sunday, aims to publicise a memorandum expressing discontent of the Tharu community towards certain provisions in the Constitution of Nepal as well as the issue of former member of parliament Resham Lal Chaudhary.

Janata Samajwadi Party (JSP) leader Rajendra Mahato has arrived in Kailali to attend the programme that has begun in Kailari rural municipality of the district.

An attendance of around 50,000 individuals has been expected in the convention including representatives of political parties and organisations as well as members of the Tharu community from all over Nepal.

Matters including the verdict of Dipayal High Court with regard to the Tikapur incident, dissatisfaction of the Tharu Community, discontent regarding the naming and boundary restructuring in the country, will be discussed in the two-day convention.
