Pre-Monsoon Season begins today, winter makes an official exit from Nepal

Winter season has officially made an exit from the country with the start of Pre-Monsoon Season from March 1, the Meteorological Forecasting Division informed.

The current phase of weather is said to last for three months, until May, in Nepal.

The pre-monsoon weather can bring thunderstorms and lightning during the afternoons and evening hours while possibilities of windstorms and hailstorms also persist.

MFD, hence, has urged people to take necessary caution in places likely to undergo these weather changes, in a bid to prevent damages to lives and properties.

However, it is to be kept in mind that the winter this year did not provide as much rain as it should have to deem adequate.

The weather as of today is partly cloudy in the high hilly and mountainous regions of Province 1, Bagmati, Gandaki, Karnali, Sudur Pashchim Province, and mainly fair in the rest of the country. There is also possibility of light snowfall at few places of the eastern and central high mountainous regions.

Also, the weather will persist to be partly cloudy in the high hilly and mountainous regions of Province 1, Gandaki Province and Sudur Pashchim Province and remain mainly fair in the rest of the country.
