73 new Covid-19 cases registered on Monday; nationwide tally hits 274,216

KATHMANDU, MARCH 01

Nepal on Monday reported 73 new cases of coronavirus infection from across the country. With this, the nationwide infection count has advanced to 274,216.

Of the newly infected, 29 are females and 44 are males.

Likewise, 64 people who were earlier infected with the virus are reported to have recovered in the past 24 hours as per the latest data provided by health ministry.

As of today, 270,471 individuals have recovered from the novel coronavirus infection. The recovery rate, as such, is 98.6 per cent.

Nepal's active Covid-19 case count currently stands at 968.

The nationwide death-toll reached 2,777 with three Covid-related fatalities reported today.

According to the health ministry, 3,049 PCR tests were conducted in the last 24 hours. With this, a total of 2,165,985 PCR tests have been carried out in Nepal till date.

Currently, there are 61 individuals in various quarantine facilities across Nepal.

On Sunday, Nepal's coronavirus case count reached 274,143 with 78 newly confirmed cases.

Globally, over 114 million people have been infected by the novel coronavirus while 2.5 million people have lost their lives to Covid-19.Likewise, over 90 million people have recovered from the disease while more than 21 million cases are still active.
