60 new cases of Covid-19 registered on Saturday; tally shifts to 275,178

KATHMANDU, MARCH 13

Nepal on Saturday reported 60 new cases of coronavirus infection from across the country. With this, the nationwide infection count has advanced to 275,178.

In the last 24 hours, 30 cases surfaced in Kathmandu district, Lalitpur reported 14 cases, while no new cases were reported from Bhaktapur. Among all the districts, Kathmandu holds the highest number of infections in the country.

Likewise, 72 people who were earlier infected with the virus are reported to have recovered in the past 24 hours as per the latest data provided by health ministry. As of today, 271,249 individuals have recovered from the novel coronavirus infection. The recovery rate, as such, is 98.6 per cent.

Nepal's active Covid-19 case count currently stands at 915.

The nationwide death-toll has advanced to 3,014 with two Covid-related fatalities reported today.

According to the health ministry, 2,362 PCR tests were conducted in the last 24 hours. With this, a total of 2,212,796 PCR tests have been carried out in Nepal till date.

Currently, there are 49 individuals in various quarantine facilities across Nepal.

On Friday, Nepal's coronavirus case count reached 275,118 with 48 newly confirmed cases.

Globally, over 119 million people have been infected by the novel coronavirus while 2.6 million people have lost their lives to Covid-19. Likewise, over 96 million people have recovered from the disease while more than 20 million cases are still active.
