PM Oli hands over national flag to mountaineer Maya Sherpa prior to her Annapurna-Dhaulagiri expedition

KATHMANDU, MARCH 20

Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli extended his well wishes to mountaineer Maya Sherpa for her upcoming Annapurna and Dhaulagiri expeditions while also handing over the national flag, on Saturday.

Amid a program held today at the Baluwatar-based PM's residence, PM Oli wished mountaineer Sherpa success for the two ascents. Similarly, Oli also suggested Sherpa to evaluate her health condition as well as the situation of the physical infrastructures before proceeding on the journey.

Maya Sherpa, who had begun her mountaineering career back in 2003, aims to summit all 14 eight-thousanders in the world among which she has already successfully climbed five peaks.

Maya Sherpa has climbed the top of the world's highest peak Mt Everest for a total of three times.
