Countrywide new infection count again crosses 300-mark today to stand at 279,725

Nepal on Saturday reported 337 new cases of coronavirus infection from across the country. With this, the total nationwide infection count has advanced to 279,725.
Of the total cases recorded today, Kathmandu district holds the highest number of new infections with 116 cases logged in the past 24 hours. Chitwan, with 33 new infections, has the second highest number of cases registered in 24 hours.
Likewise, 151 people who were earlier infected with the virus are reported to have recovered in the past 24 hours as per the latest data provided by health ministry. As of today, 273,886 individuals have recovered from the novel coronavirus infection. The recovery rate, as such, is 97.9 per cent.
Nepal's active Covid-19 case count currently stands at 2,800.
The nationwide death-toll has reached 3,039 with one Covid-related fatality reported today.
According to the health ministry, 3,532 PCR tests were conducted in the last 24 hours. With this, a total of 2,309,776 PCR tests have been carried out in Nepal till date.
Currently, there are 84 individuals in various quarantine facilities across Nepal.
On Friday, Nepal's coronavirus case count reached 279,388 with 288 newly confirmed cases.
Globally, over 135 million people have been infected by the novel coronavirus while 2.9 million people have lost their lives to Covid-19. Likewise, over 108 million people have recovered from the disease while more than 23 million cases are still active.
