KATHMANDU, APRIL 21

​​​​Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli and one of his major political rivals, one from within his party, former Prime Minister Madhav Kumar Nepal have held talks today breaking months of communication gap between them.

The two senior figures of the ruling CPN-UML, Oli and Nepal met at the Kathmandu Marriot Hotel based in Naxal in the capital.

The details of the talks between the leaders is yet to be availed.

General Secretary of the party and Finance Minister was also present at the meeting. However, the two leaders had spent some time in a one-on-one discussion, it has been learnt.

The two leaders have wrapped up their meeting and have retired to their residences.

Tensions run high in the ruling party which is at the brink of a split following never ending differences between the at-odd factions.

While the Khanal-Nepal faction has been forming and running parallel committees in the party, miffed Oli has been issuing from suspension notices to threats of permanent expulsion to the members of disgruntled group.

Meanwhile, the yields of the recent meeting is something the entire political sphere is waiting to learn at the moment.
