Police take action against prohibitory order violators in Birgunj

BIRGUNJ, APRIL 29

Nepal Police personnel took action against at least a hundred people flouting the ongoing prohibitory period in Birgunj on Thursday.

According to Spokesperson of the Parsa District Police Office, DSP Omprakash Khanal, more than 200 vehicles were rounded up on charges of breaching order on the first day of prohibitory orders imposed by district authorities across several parts of the country.

Police took action against 175 motorcycles, eight four-wheelers, 13 tempo, and four carts from assorted locations in the district for operating without permit.

'These vehicles will remain under police control until the prohibitory order is lifted,' DSP Khanal shared.

DSP Khanal accepted that the administration is not being able to impose the complete lockdown in rural areas. 'However, we have been able to impose complete regulation in city areas,' He shared.

According to him, police is applying all measures to impose the orders strictly in the area.
