International flights' suspension extended till 31st May as COVID-19 situation worsens.

KATHMANDU, MAY 11

The suspension on operation of international flights has been extended till May 31 as cases of coronavirus infection continues to rise at an alarming rate in Nepal.

In a press release issued by the Civil Aviation Authority of Nepal (CAAN) on Tuesday, it stated that the suspension period of International schedule flights (except two flights a week between Kathmandu and New Delhi, one flight each by Nepal Airlines and Air India, under Air Travel Bubble Arrangement) has been extended till 31st of May, 2021.

The Government of Nepal had decided to suspend all international flights except two flights per week from Delhi as per the air bubble agreement, from May 6 midnight till May 14.

Earlier, the cabinet had decided to halt all domestic flights from the May 3 midnight as recommended by the Crisis Management Centre (CCMC).
