KATHMANDU: Nepal Students' Union (NSU), student wing of Nepali Congress, today launched a campaign urging the political parties to end the ongoing political stalemate and draft the constitution within the set timetable. Addressing a press conference here, Pradeep Poudel, president of NSU, said that since the case of former Chief of Army Staff, Ruk Mangad Kattuwal is subjudiced in the Supreme Court; the political parties should wait for the decision of the court and end the stalemate. 'Maoist combatants in the cantonment should be let to decide themselves on their fate,' he said. As part of their pressure-exerting programme on the parties, NSU is going to submit a memo to the political parties. Similarly, in the second phase, they will be hitting all the districts to meet the district level leaders from all parties urging them to come to consensus. 'We would also be organising sit-in and gatherings in peaceful way to pressurise the government and political parties to draft the constitution on time,' he added.
