Monsoon arrives in Nepal one day later than normal onset

Meteorological Forecasting Division has shared that monsoon onset has begun in Nepal as eastern parts of the country including Provinces 1, 2 and Bagmati Province have welcomed arrival of the season.
The division said that within one or two days, monsoon rains would prevail throughout the country.
Meanwhile, the Flood Forecasting Section of the MFD has issued an alert that due to formation of Low Pressure Area in the areas nearing Bay of Bengal.
The section has asked all to stay cautious as the monsoon will gradually become more and more active resultant to which most parts in the country will experience mild to moderate rainfall while few areas will witness heavy downpour.
Monsoon had entered Nepal on June 12 last year which was two days late than normal onset date, which falls on June 10. This year, however, monsoon has begun one day later than normal onset.
