Nepal's active covid-caseload drops to 59,264; death toll moves to 8641
1963 confirmed Covid-19 positive from 7569 PCR tests

Nepal's coronavirus caseload reached 617,947 on Friday with 1,963 more people testing positive for the infection in the past 24 hours.
The highest single-day total logged in Nepal was on May 11, where 9317 infections were logged.
Meanwhile, the total coronavirus recoveries stand at 549,682 with 4,020 discharges recorded today.
In the past 24 hours, 44 more Covid-related fatalities were logged, taking the total death toll to 8,641.
As per the latest data provided by the health ministry, 13,037 total tests were conducted in the last 24 hours of which 7,569 were PCR tests while 5,468 were antigen tests. With this, a total of 3,255,579 PCR tests have been carried out till date.
Similarly, antigen tests have confirmed 805 positive cases in the past 24 hours. The total number of single-day infections from both the RT-PCR and antigen tests add up to 2,768.
Nepal's Covid-19 recovery rate stands at 89 %, while on the other hand the fatality rate stands at 1.6 %.
The country's active Covid-19 case count has dropped to 59,624 with daily recoveries exceeding daily infections.
In the same time frame, 394 infections were reported in the capital city while Lalitpur and Bhaktapur reported 60 and 54 cases respectively.
So far, a total of 3,221,842 people have received coronavirus vaccine across the country, of which 2,491,114 have received the first dose while only 730,728 individuals have been inoculated with both the doses and are fully vaccinated.
On Thursday, Nepal's coronavirus case count had reached 615,984 on Thursday with 1,768 more people testing positive for the infection.
Globally, over 178 million people have been infected by the novel coronavirus while 3.8 million people have lost their lives to the disease.
Likewise, over 162 million people have recovered while more than 11 million cases are still active.
