Covid-19 deaths cross 9000 mark in Nepal; 1353 new cases reported Sunday
3007 recover in 24 hours, active cases drop to 40,336

Nepal's coronavirus caseload reached 633,679 on Sunday with 1,353 more people testing positive for the infection in the past 24 hours.
Meanwhile, the total coronavirus recoveries stand at 584,334 with 3,007 people discharged today.
Covid-19 fatalities in Nepal crossed the 9,000-mark with 34 more Covid-related deaths taking the total toll to 9,009.
As per the latest data provided by the health ministry, 9,836 total tests were conducted in the last 24 hours of which 6,0000 were PCR tests while 3,836 were antigen tests. With this, a total of 3,323,039 PCR tests have been carried out till date.
Similarly, antigen tests have confirmed 567 positive cases in the past 24 hours. The total number of single-day infections from both the RT-PCR and antigen tests amount to 1,920.
Nepal's Covid-19 recovery rate stands at 92.2 %, while on the other hand the fatality rate stands at 1.5%.
The country's active Covid-19 case count has dropped to 40,336 with daily recoveries exceeding daily infections.
In the same time frame, 292 infections were reported in the capital city while Lalitpur and Bhaktapur reported 100 and 32 cases respectively.
So far, a total of 3,333,921 people have received coronavirus vaccine across the country, of which 2,583,790 have received the first dose while only 750,131 individuals have been inoculated with both the doses and are fully vaccinated.
Currently, there are 367 individuals in various quarantine facilities across Nepal.
On Saturday, Nepal's coronavirus case count had reached 632,326 with 1,174 more people testing positive for the infection.
Globally, over 181 million people have been infected by the novel coronavirus while 3.9 million people have lost their lives to the disease.
Likewise, over 164 million people have recovered while more than 11 million cases are still active.
