Three killed, ten others injured in Baitadi jeep accident

Three persons died while ten others sustained injuries after the jeep they were travelling on fell below the road in Sigas of Baitadi district on Sunday, morning.
Police have identified the deceased as Jay Singh Dhami (45), Man Singh Saud 945) and Ram Singh Dhami (64), all of Sizzzzgal Rural Municipality-3, informed Police Inspector Darshan Khadka, Spokesperson at the District Police Office, Baitadi.
According to police, the jeep (Se 1 Ja 739), en route to Dadeldhura from Sigas-3 skidded off the road and fell some 50 metres below in Lagan at 9:40 am today, killing three and injuring 10 others.
Among the injured, three -- Yogendra Dhami (18), Laxman Bohora (13) and Gomati Saud (40), all of Sigas-3 --are said to be in critical condition and undergoing treatment at the Dadeldhura Hospital.
Similarly, other seven who sustained minor injuries -- Karan Singh Dhami (29), Dalbir Saud (45), Chakra Dhami (40), Basmati Dhami (38), Rajendra Dhami (20), Krishna Dhami (47), Sher Bahadur Dhami (40), and Rabindra Dhami (20), all from Sigas-3 --- are also receiving treatment at the same hospital.
Meanwhile, the jeep driver Khagendra Saud (19) and Jeep owner Haribhan Saud (44) have absconded after the incident, police informed.
It has been reported that 16 persons were travelling in the jeep at the time of the accident.
