RAJBIRAJ, JULY 9
One person died when two groups clashed with each other in Saptari last night.
The deceased has been identified as Mohammad Daud Miya, 58, of Khadak Municipality-9, Saptari.
Daud's grandson from his daughter, Mohammad Sanaul, has been working as an agent to send people to Gulf countries for foreign employment.
Some people from the village of maternal grandfather had gone to foreign countries for employment through Mohammad Sanaul.
Relatives of those going to foreign employment had asked Sanaul to return the money they had given at the time of sending youths to the foreign land. This led to the dispute resulting into a scuffle between the two sides.
When the infighting broke out, Mohammad Daud had tried to save his grandson.
Meanwhile, the other side hit Daud with bamboo stick on his head.
Critically injured Daud was rushed to the Chhinnamasta Hospital where he breathed his last while undergoing treatment. Police have handed over the body to family members and have launched an investigation into the incident, said DSP Madhav Prasad Kafle.
