Prohibitory period in Kathmandu valley extended till July 25
No decision has been taken yet in terms of resuming long-haul transportation services to-and-fro the valley.

District Administration Offices of three districts in Kathmandu Valley have extended ongoing Covid-19 prohibitory period, that was to expire tonight, till July 25.
In the new phase of regulatory period that come into effect from Friday, the district authorities have decided to continue with restrictions on operating entertainment related businesses, conducting public demonstrations, jatras, or festivities, and running educational institutions.
However, transportation of local goods from 9 till 11 in the morning and 4 till 7 in the evening will be allowed in this phase.
Likewise, other regular shops and businesses are allowed to operate till 7 pm. Similarly, online delivery, restaurant and home delivery services inside the valley can also operate till 7 pm.
As in the previous update, public as well as private vehicles are allowed to travel within the valley in adherence to safety measures.
Private as well as public vehicles entering the valley for emergency purposes would also be permitted, according to the notice.
Since many students are appearing for their written as well as practical examinations in coming weeks, the notice specifies that the stakeholders must regulate health protocols strictly inside the examination halls. As per protocol, there should be no more than 25 students in one hall, maintenance of social distancing, use of masks, use of sanitizer, etc, must be made mandatory.
In case of educational trainings, conferences, meetings, such activities can be conducted virtually but if it is needed to be done physically, the number of participants should not exceed 25.
