KATHMANDU, JULY 25

Nepal national football team's headcoach Abdullah Almutairi has announced resignation from his post, on Sunday.

Almutairi, on his Facebook page, shared that he is visiting the All Nepal Football Association (ANFA) office to tender his resignation, today.

In the very post addressed to his fans, he has claimed that senior vice-president of ANFA, Pankaj Nembang, is the reason behind his decision to resign.

He further accused Nembang of being a hindrance to his job, and for 'creating drama everyday' for the last three weeks.

Kuwaiti national Almutairi, as the only professional licence holder and AFC coaching instructor, was appointed as the head coach on April 4. He was handed a one-year term to coach the national team.

He was sent to Nepal by Qatar Football Association (QFA) at the request of ANFA.

Almutairi has prior experience of coaching clubs in his homeland Kuwait, and Saudi Arabia as well as coach of Kyrgyzstan U-16 team, before coming to Nepal as head coach.
