KATHMANDU, AUGUST 07

The newly appointed Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba has appealed the public to adopt all prescribed health and safety protocols amid fears of a potential third wave of the pandemic in the country.

PM Deuba took to twitter to make the appeal stating that the efforts of the government alone is not enough to curb the pandemic and thus it was imperative for the public to take collective responsibility in controlling the pandemic.

Our best hope against the pandemic is vaccination. Currently, people of different age groups are being vaccinated. I would request everyone to adhere to all the necessary safety guidelines at vaccination booths,' said PM Deuba.

Similarly, he also made an appeal to all political parties, private sector and I/NGOs to refrain from organising any gathering to avoid overcrowding, and eventually large-scale spread of the virus.

Lastly, Deuba shared a message that he was hopeful that with the combined efforts of the government and the public, the country will overcome these grim times.
