Nine more Nepali nationals have been evacuated from Taliban-occupied Afghanistan on Wednesday.

According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MoFA), at least nine Nepalis have been brought to Kathmandu today.

A few days ago, the evacuees were taken to Qatar while today they boarded the Qatar Airways flight and touched town at the Tribhuvan International Airport (TIA) in Kathmandu.

It has been learnt that as of today 847 Nepalis have been rescued from war-torn Afghanistan.

Meanwhile, 34 Nepalis stranded in Afghanistan are still awaiting to be rescued. MoFA informed that efforts are underway to evacuate the stranded persons.

The Kabul Airport through which rescue operations of foreign citizens were being carried out has been taken under control by the Taliban following which evacuation procedure of deserted foreigners including 34 Nepalis is in limbo.
