Three killed, one critically injured in Ramechhap jeep accident

OKHALDHUNGA, SEPTEMBER 16

Three persons died while one sustained critical injuries after the jeep they were travelling on plunged into a river in Manthali of Ramechhap district this morning.

The accident occurred when a Bolero jeep (State 3-01-023 Cha 3513) heading towards Okhaldhunga from Kathmandu skidded off the road and plunged into Tamakoshi river at Bokse cliff in Hattitar along the Khurkot-Manthali road section, killing three on the spot while seriously injuring one.

The deceased have been identified as the jeep driver Lakpa Sherpa of Khijdemba Rural Municipality-6 of Okhaldhunga, his wife Phurba Sherpa and jeep owner Wangsen Sherpa, said Information Officer, Shree Shankar Shrestha, at the District Police Office, Ramechhap.

Meanwhile, the 12-year-old Pemba Sherpa, who was injured in the accident, is in critical condition, said police.
