Active caseload drops to 13853 from 14267 a day before

Nepal's coronavirus caseload reached 804,276 on Thursday with 398 more people testing positive for the infection in the past 24 hours.

Nepal's coronavirus caseload reached 804,276 on Thursday with 398 more people testing positive for the infection in the past 24 hours.

Meanwhile, the total coronavirus recoveries stand at 779,154 with 804 discharges logged today.

On the other hand, the countrywide Covid-19 mortality toll increased to 11,269 with eight more fatalities.

As per the latest data provided by the health ministry, a total of 6,214 tests were conducted in the last 24 hours of which 3,418 were PCR tests while 2,796 were antigen tests. With this, a total of 4,310,320 PCR tests have been carried out till date.

Similarly, antigen tests have confirmed 57 positive cases in the past 24 hours. The total number of single-day infections from both the RT-PCR and antigen tests amount to 455.

Nepal's Covid-19 recovery rate stands at 96.9 %, while the fatality rate stands at 1.4%.

The country's active Covid-19 case count currently is 13,853 against 14,267 a day before.

Currently, there are 230 individuals in various quarantine facilities across Nepal.

So far, a total of 14,857,561 people has received coronavirus vaccine across the country, of which 8,388,402 have received the first dose while only 6,469,159 individuals have been inoculated with both the doses and are fully vaccinated.

Globally, over 239 million people have been infected by the novel coronavirus while 4.8 million people have lost their lives to the disease.

Likewise, over 217 million people have recovered while more than 17 million cases are still active.
