Israeli Embassy along with Shalom Club Nepal organises "Tree Plantation Program" in Kathmandu

KATHMANDU, OCTOBER 26

The Embassy of Israel together with Shalom Club Nepal organized 'Tree Plantation Program', in Rastriya Shahid Tatha Shanti Park, Nijamati (Smarak), Gokarneswor-4 on Tuesday.

The trees were planted in the park, as a symbolic act of celebrating nature, goodness and promoting ecological awareness marking 61 years of diplomatic relations between Nepal and Israel.

Minister for Education, Science and Technology Devendra Paudel, graced the Tree Plantation Ceremony as the Chief Guest. Expressing the importance and willingness to develop the park, the Minister Paudel said, 'This is my third visit at this Park. The park would be exemplary for Nepalese as well as foreigners who come to visit park and wish to know about Martyrs.'

Similarly, expressing contentment to be a part of the plantation, Hanan Goder, Ambassador of Israel to Nepal said, 'The Embassy of Israel appreciates Shalom Club efforts for preserving environment and supporting the community.'

The relations between Nepal and Israel were established at the initiation of the two great leaders and Prime Ministers of their respective countries, BP Koirala and David Ben Gurion on 1 June 1960. Marking this important event, Ambassador Hanan Goder along with the Embassy staff and Shalom Club Members visited BP Koirala Museum.

In the same manner, Shalom Club President Dr Bim Prasad Shrestha said, 'The Shalom Club Nepal feels honored to further strengthen ties with Israel with whom Nepal began diplomatic journey. We planted the trees at UNESCO Park to begin our journey towards multi-lateral dimensions.'
