KATHMANDU, OCTOBER 31

Nepali youth team faced a 4-0 loss at the hands of Lebanon in the third and final match of the AFC U-23 Asian Cup Qualifiers at the Republican Central Stadium in Dushanbe on Sunday.

Zein Farran scored a brace for Lebanon, while Mohamad Nasser and Mohamad Faouzi Haider netted one each. Farran opened the scoring in the 26th minute as Nepal conceded just one goal in the first half.

Farran doubled the tally in the 46th minute before Nasser made it 3-0 in the 74th minute and Haider completed the rout eight minutes later. Nepal had lost 4-0 against Iran and 6-0 against hosts Tajikistan in the previous two Group B matches.

Nepal, who participated in the Qualifiers for the third time, failed to open their goal account for the third straight outing. Winners from 12 groups and four best runners-up will make it to the next year's tournament to be held in Uzbekistan.
