BAJURA, NOVEMBER 17

Seven years have already passed, but the construction of Jayabageshwori Health Post has yet to start in Khaptadchhededaha Rural Municipality, Bajura.

According to the health post, a contract was made to accomplish the work within two years on 29 November 2015. But the construction works is yet to start.

MK Devi Singh JV, Dhangadi had signed the agreement worth Rs 10.69 million for the project. Works has not started even after years due to negligence on the part of the contractor.

Sub-engineer Avishek Malasani of Urban and Building Construction Project, Rajpur, said that construction of the building was left in the lurch due to negligence of the contractor. 'We are tired of reminding the contractor about the project,' said a staffer. He said that for years, neither any action was taken against the contractor, nor had the project work started.

The deadline of the project has been extended three times. Malasini said that as per the last extension, the project was supposed to be completed by 26 March 2022. He said the contractor was a local, but there was sheer negligence on the part of the contractor.

Health Post In-charge Badri Sunar said that they had been providing service from a dilapidated building.

He said patients were receiving treatment in an old and damaged building. Sunar added that they had been providing all the health services to patients from a single building.

Dharma Budha, a local, said that the local administration had also not paid attention to the problem.

Meanwhile, Chief District Officer of Bajura Gopal Adhikari said that his office had not been informed about the issue.
