Nepal records 271 fresh COVID-19 cases, five fatalities on Friday

Nepal recorded 271 new coronavirus infections in last 24 hours, pushing the nationwide tally to 818,578 while the death toll climbed to 11,494 with five fatalities on Friday, November 19, 2021.

Nepal recorded 271 new coronavirus infections in last 24 hours, pushing the nationwide tally to 818,578 while the death toll climbed to 11,494 with five fatalities today.

Meanwhile, the total coronavirus recoveries stand at 799,545 with 369 discharges logged today.

As per the latest data provided by the health ministry, a total of 8,972 tests were conducted in the last 24 hours of which 7,777 were PCR tests while 1,195 were antigen tests. With this, a total of 4,546,326 PCR tests have been carried out till date.

Similarly, antigen tests have confirmed 25 positive cases in the past 24 hours. The total number of single-day infections from both the RT-PCR and antigen tests totals to 296.

Nepal's Covid-19 recovery rate stands at 97.7%, while the fatality rate stands at 1.4%.

The country's active Covid-19 case count currently is 7,539.

Currently, there are 98 individuals in various quarantine facilities across Nepal.

On Thursday, Nepal had witnessed 272 cases of the coronavirus infection while six more succumbed to the disease in the same period.
