Nepal on Saturday records 197 fresh COVID-19 cases, three fatalities

KATHMANDU, NOVEMBER 27

Nepal recorded 197 new coronavirus infections in last 24 hours, pushing the nationwide tally to 820,724 while the death toll climbed to 11,521 with three fatalities today.

Meanwhile, the total coronavirus recoveries stand at 802,047 with 325 discharges logged today.

As per the latest data provided by the health ministry, a total of 6,632 tests were conducted in the last 24 hours of which 4,907 were PCR tests while 1,725 were antigen tests. With this, a total of 4,604,396 PCR tests have been carried out till date.

Similarly, antigen tests have confirmed 16 positive cases in the past 24 hours. The total number of single-day infections from both the RT-PCR and antigen tests totals to 213.

Nepal's Covid-19 recovery rate stands at 97.7%, while the fatality rate stands at 1.4%.

The country's active Covid-19 case count currently is 7,156.

Currently, there are 98 individuals in various quarantine facilities across Nepal.

On Thursday, Nepal had witnessed 242 cases of the coronavirus infection while two persons succumbed to the disease in the same period.
