Five-party alliance to continue till next general elections, says Pokhrel

SIRAHA, DECEMBER 1

CPN-Maoist Centre standing committee member and former minister Girirajmani Pokhrel today said the five-party alliance would continue until the next general elections.

Addressing Dhangadimai Municipality's first conference, Pokhrel reiterated that his party would join hands with the alliance till the polls.

Pokhrel, however, made it clear that his party would not forge any kind of anti-national agreement with the Nepali Congress to pass the Millennium Challenge Corporation from the Parliament.

'We will not vote for the MCC even if we have to sever ties with the five-party alliance,' Pokhrel added.

On a different note, Pokhrel commented that CPN-UML was no longer a leftist party. He accused the UML's current leadership of weakening the country and pushing it towards totalitarianism.

'KP Oli's politics is politics of fascism and oppression.

Under him, the country will have to face exploitation and suppression.'

He charged that Oli had engineered the split of the then Nepal Communist Party for his vested interest.
