Nepal records 252 fresh COVID-19 cases, six fatalities on Wednesday

KATHMANDU, DECEMBER 15

Nepal recorded 252 new coronavirus infections in last 24 hours, pushing the nationwide tally to 825,016 while the death toll climbed to 11,565 fatalities today. Meanwhile, six fatalties were reported on Wednesday.

Meanwhile, the total coronavirus recoveries stand at 807,816 with 300 discharges logged today.

As per the latest data provided by the health ministry, a total of 11,994 tests were conducted in the last 24 hours of which 9,212 were PCR tests while 2,782 were antigen tests. With this, a total of 4,743,798 PCR tests have been carried out till date.

Similarly, antigen tests have confirmed 28 positive cases in the past 24 hours. The total number of single-day infections from both the RT-PCR and antigen tests totals to 280.

Nepal's Covid-19 recovery rate stands at 97.9%, while the fatality rate stands at 1.4%.

The country's active Covid-19 case count currently is 5,635.

Currently, there are 95 individuals in various quarantine facilities across Nepal.
