Nepal records 160 new Covid-19 cases, 267 discharges, 2 fatalities on Thursday

Nepal's coronavirus caseload reached 825,176 on Thursday with 160 more people testing positive for the infection in the past 24 hours.
Meanwhile, the total coronavirus recoveries stand at 808,083 with 267 discharges logged today.
On the other hand, the countrywide Covid-19 mortality toll increased to 11,567 with two fatalities.
The country's active Covid-19 case count currently is 5,526 against 5,635 a day before.
As per the latest data provided by the health ministry, a total of 11,018 tests were conducted in the last 24 hours of which 7,230 were PCR tests while 3,788 were antigen tests. With this, a total of 4,751,028 PCR tests have been carried out till date.
Similarly, antigen tests have confirmed 24 positive cases in the past 24 hours. The total number of single-day infections from both the RT-PCR and antigen tests amount to 184.
Nepal's Covid-19 recovery rate stands at 97.9 %, while the fatality rate stands at 1.4%.
Currently, there are 96 individuals in various quarantine facilities across Nepal.
The capital district holds the highest number of infections with 62 cases in the country. Lalitpur is second in line with 20 cases while Morang is third with 10 cases today.
So far, a total of 21,238,623 people has received coronavirus vaccine across the country, of which 11,770,134 have received the first dose while only 9,468,489 individuals have been inoculated with both the doses and are fully vaccinated.
As many as 240,564 people received Covid-19 vaccine today alone.
Globally, over 272 million people have been infected by the novel coronavirus while 5.3 million people have lost their lives to the disease.
Likewise, over 244 million people have recovered while more than 22 million cases are still active.
