SIRAHA, DECEMBER 19

Irate locals burned tyres at various places of Golbazaar and obstructed the road demanding action against the perpetrators of the murder of a youth in a knife attack at Ward 6 of Golbazaar in Siraha today.

A group of youths had encircled Ram Kumar Sada, 26, attacked and killed him while the latter was on the way home from the market last evening. A critically injured Sada died after he was admitted to RK Medicity Hospital for treatment, said a hospital source.

The road was obstructed for five hours from early morning today. Locals blocked the road putting forward different demands, including action against the guilty and compensation to the victim's family.

The road was cleared after the local administration signed a three-point agreement with a pledge to arrest the guilty within the 24 hours. The agreement includes arrest of the ones guilty of the crime, treatment of the injured and recommendation for compensation to the victim's family.

A 19-year-old Nikesh Sada is being treated at RK Medicity Hospital. Police have launched an investigation into the incident, said District Police Office Siraha.
