Nepal records 209 fresh COVID-19 cases, two fatalities on Wednesday

Nepal recorded 209 new coronavirus infections in last 24 hours, pushing the nationwide tally to 827,972 while the death toll climbed to 11,590 fatalities today. Meanwhile, two fatalities were reported on Wednesday.
Meanwhile, the total coronavirus recoveries stand at 811,518 with 253 discharges logged today.
As per the latest data provided by the health ministry, a total of 7,608 tests were conducted in the last 24 hours of which 6,433 were PCR tests while 1,175 were antigen tests. With this, a total of 4,844,656 PCR tests have been carried out till date.Similarly, antigen tests have confirmed 11 positive cases in the past 24 hours. The total number of single-day infections from both the RT-PCR and antigen tests totals to 220.
Nepal's Covid-19 recovery rate stands at 98%, while the fatality rate stands at 1.4%.
The country's active Covid-19 case count currently is 4,864.
Currently, there are 98 individuals in various quarantine facilities across Nepal.
On Tuesday, Nepal had witnessed 241 cases of the respiratory infection while two persons had succumbed to the disease during the same period.
