The Drinking Water and Sanitation Division has allocated a budget of Rs 270 million for a total of 151 small and large drinking water projects throughout the district.
According to Bamdev Poudel, engineer and information officer at the DWSD, all 151 projects are in various phases of completion including 86 provincial drinking water projects, 16 provincial basic projects, eight special grant projects, and 18 additional projects.
Similarly, 23 projects are being carried out under the federal government's conditional funding.
Some of the projects are serial and some will be carried out this year, while others will be completed in 4-5 years.
Poudel noted that the federal government will bear Rs 42.3 million for the projects, while the Gandaki government will cover the remainder.
The Gandaki province government is committed to delivering safe and clean drinking water, according to Rajendra Prasad Neupane, chief of the Tanahun DWSD.
The provincial authorities have prioritised the 'one house, one tap' campaign in order to provide drinking water to every household in the province, added Neupane.
Solar, lifts and electricity will be used to power drinking water projects.
According to the administration, the majority of projects in rural regions will use lifting technology.
