Festivals, gatherings banned in Chitwan

CHITWAN, JANUARY 10

A meeting of Chitwan District COVID-19 Crisis Management Committee held in Bharatpur decided to impose ban on all fairs and festivals scheduled in the district today.

Chitwan CDO Ashman Tamang said the meeting decided to ban all kinds of gatherings, rallies, protests, demonstrations, fairs and festivals to contain the spread of COVID-19. 'We have decided to postpone Ratnanagar festival slated to be held from Tuesday for a few days and give permission for it to go ahead only after looking into the circumstances,' said CDO Tamang. The meeting decided to shut Makar fair to be organised on the banks of Devghat on the day of Maghe Sankrati.

The meeting decided to launch vaccination campaign and manage antigen testing at public places in the district.
