Light rain, snowfall forecast for couple of days

The influence of a Westerly low pressure system has generated light precipitation and snowfall over the past three days. This weather trend is predicted to last a few days, according to the Department of Hydrology and Meteorology.

The emergence of a new atmospheric system is expected to begin on Friday, according to meteorologist Manju Basi.

According to the Meteorological Forecasting Division, light rain is likely to occur at a few places of Province 1, Province 2, Bagmati Province, Gandaki Province and Lumbini Province and light snowfall at a few places of the eastern and central high mountainous regions in the next 12 hours.

The Department has urged people to take precautions against cold and possible consequences of snowfall.

On Thursday, there will be partly cloudy across the country and light snowfall is likely at one or two places of high hills and mountainous regions in Province 1 and Gandaki Province.

According to the latest information from the Division, the Kathmandu Valley's minimum temperature was 7.0 degrees Celsius today, with a maximum of 18.7 degrees. Similarly, Jumla had the coldest temperature of -4.3 degrees Celsius.
