Nepal's active caseload crosses 25k mark as 4,534 new cases surface on Sunday

KATHMANDU, JANUARY 16

The national active Covid-19 caseload of Nepal climbed to 25,680 on Sunday as 4,534 people tested positive for the infection in past 24 hours.

The death toll reached to 11,620 as three fatalities were recorded today.

Meanwhile, 350 discharges were logged today.

As per the latest data provided by the health ministry, in the last 24 hours of 12,562 PCR tests and 2,569 antigen tests were conducted.

Similarly, antigen tests have confirmed 427 positive cases in the past 24 hours. The total number of single-day infections from both the RT-PCR and antigen tests totals to 4961.

On Saturday, Nepal had witnessded 3,703 cases of the COVID-19 infection while four persopns had succumbed to the disease in the same peiod.
