Covid-19 surge continues in Kathmandu valley with 6343 fresh cases on Wednesday

KATHMANDU, JANUARY 19

The Covid-19 pandemic has continued to maintain its grip on Kathmandu valley as 6343 more tested positive for the infection today.

Of the three valley districts, Kathmandu reported the highest number of 24-hour Covid-19 figures as 4666 more tested positive.

The capital remains the district with highest active caseload, having reported the biggest number of single day cases, back-to-back.

Likewise, Lalitpur today logged 1099 infections while 578 people were detected with the virus in Bhaktapur in the same time period.

As of today, the nationwide Covid-19 tally stands at 877,717 while 11,628 people have lost their lives to the contagion. Likewise, 818,160 discharges upon recovery have been reported in the duration.
