Fusemachines Announces AI Fellowship 2022 in Nepal

Programme with UKaid SEEP Support features high demand courses to create Nepal's new generation of AI talent

KATHMANDU, JANUARY 21

Fusemachines Inc., a leading AI talent and education platform and service provider, announced AI Fellowship 2022, on Thursday.

According to a statement issued by the Fusemachines, the online live certification program is a Fusemachines' initiative that has been designed and expanded in Nepal over the last two years, with support from the UKaid Skills for Employment (SEEP) programme, with a keen focus on upskilling.

The program aims to expand the talent pool of AI engineers in Nepal and will be offered to a total of 100 university students and graduates with backgrounds in mathematics, engineering and computer science.

Selected candidates will be granted a full scholarship to take the courses, the statement further reads.

Remarking on this important endeavour, Baljit Vohra, UKaid SEEP Team Leader and Stuti Basnyet, Deputy Team Leader said, 'Globally aligning and improving the ICT skilling system, by ensuring stronger alignment with global and national expertise and industries is critical to realizing Nepal's potential on ICT. Over the last two years, UKaid SEEP has supported Fusemachines in their growth journey, helping expand essential infrastructure, adapt and build context-responsive curricula, and forge stronger collaborations with academic institutions and other system actors.'

According to Fusemachines, AI Fellowship 2022 will feature Fusemachines' proprietary Microdegree™ and Microdegree™ Specialization programs, created by leading US university faculty members and AI industry experts. Participants will undergo a year-long accelerated learning process, which will entail courses in Machine Learning, Deep Learning, Natural Language Processing, and Computer Vision.

By the end of the program, students will have developed a solid understanding of Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning and Deep Learning algorithms as well as underlying mathematics and code.

The program will employ a blended learning method featuring weekly, live online classes conducted by highly regarded academics and industry experts, programming assignments, group projects and examinations.

Additionally, most of the content will be available online for students to peruse at their own pace.

Fusemachines first introduced AI Fellowship in 2017.
