Silent period for NA election begins

The silent period for the National Assembly election slated for January 26 began last midnight.
Election related campaign is prohibited from midnight, according to Election Commission spokesperson Shaligram Sharma Poudel. In a press statement released by the Commission today, the Commission ordered that all publicity materials and electoral signs should be removed from the polling centres and campaigning through any kind of digital platform such as Facebook and Viber also to be forbidden. The Commission has urged one and all to comply with the election code of conduct.
Voters can cast their ballot showing their voter identity card issued by the Commission during the local level election in 2017, House of Representatives and Province Assembly member election and the by-election in 2019.
The NA election is going to be held for 19 posts.
