15 more Covid-19 fatalities reported in Nepal in 24-hrs, 8,017 fresh infections surface

The national active Covid-19 caseload of Nepal climbed to 90,576 on Thursday as 8,017 people tested positive for the infection in past 24 hours.

The latest reported number of infections carried the nationwide tally to 939,267 while the death toll reached 11,687 as 15 fatalities were recorded today.

Meanwhile, the total coronavirus recoveries stand at 837,004 with 5,292 discharges logged today.

As per the latest data provided by the health ministry, a total of 21,808 tests were conducted in the last 24 hours of which 15,7363 were PCR tests while 6,072 were antigen tests. With this, a total of 5,185,704 PCR tests have been carried out till date.

In the last 24 hours, RT-PCR tests confirmed 5,816 positive cases, whereas antigen tests confirmed 2,201 cases.

Nepal's Covid-19 recovery rate stands at 89.1%, while the fatality rate stands at 1.4%. Currently, there are 149 individuals in various quarantine facilities across Nepal.
