Nepal records 3,637 fresh COVID-19 cases, 12 fatalities on Wednesday

The total number of single-day infections from both the RT-PCR and antigen tests totals to 3637.

KATHMANDU, FEBRUARY 02

The national active Covid-19 caseload of Nepal climbed to 69,291 on Wednesday as 2,205 people tested positive for the infection in past 24 hours.

The latest reported number of infections carried the nationwide tally to 959,775 while the death toll reached 11,764 as 12 fatalities were recorded today.

Meanwhile, the total coronavirus recoveries stand at 878,720 with 7,555 discharges logged today.

As per the latest data provided by the health ministry, a total of 11,582 tests were conducted in the last 24 hours of which 6,499 were PCR tests while 5,083 were antigen tests. With this, a total of 5,247,149 PCR tests have been carried out till date.

Similarly, antigen tests have confirmed 1,432 positive cases in the past 24 hours. The total number of single-day infections from both the RT-PCR and antigen tests totals to 3637.

Nepal's Covid-19 recovery rate stands at 91.6%, while the fatality rate stands at 1.3%.

Currently, there are 138 individuals in various quarantine facilities across Nepal.
