KATHMANDU: The Federation of Nepalese Chambers of Commerce and Industries (FNCCI), CEDB Hydro Fund Ltd and Clean Energy Development Bank today signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on developing small and medium hydropower projects in in no less than 45 districts of the country under Public-Private Partnership (PPP). As per the agreement, small and medium hydropower projects from one to 10 MW capacity will be developed in 45 districts over four years. In projects to be developed with participation from local bodies, CEDB Ltd Hydro Fund Ltd and Clean Energy Development Bank will manage investment at the local level. The first project under the concept will be Mahesh Khola Hydro Project in Dhading. The construction of the project will begin soon. Four other projects are also in the implementation phase. According to the MoU, all the three organizations will promote and carry forward the locally identified projects in coordination with VDCs, DDCs and other local bodies.
