Altitude Air family congratulates Lhakpa Sonam Sherpa for summitting Mt Aconcagua

KATHMANDU, FEBRUARY 24

Altitude Air family today congratulated Tourism Pioneer Mr Lhakpa Sonam Sherpa for successfully summiting Mt Aconcagua (6962m), making it his 6th summit as part of his Seven Summits and his final goal is Mt. Everest.

The Yeti group chairman Sherpa climbed the highest peak of South America on January 24 at 11:30am making successful ascent of six of the seven summits, which are the highest peaks on every continent till date.

The Altitude team also honoured, three brother Mingma Sherpa, Chhang Dawa, and Tashi Lakpa Sherpa for their successful summit of Mt. Vinson and ski to South Pole.

Now they became the first three siblings to complete the journey: Ski to the South pole and to climb Mt Vinson.

Sherpa siblings made a successful ascent of Mt Vinson on 13 January at 6:30 PM (Chile time) after spending a month in Antarctica. The team had also skied to the South Pole (90 degree south -Last Degree) on January 2, as they planned for their mission.

Two of the three brothers---Mingma and Chhang Dawa Sherpa--also hold the Guinness World Record titled 'World's First Siblings to Climb All 8000ers'. While Tashi Lakpa Sherpa holds the Guinness record for climbing Mt Everest at the age of 20 without using supplementary oxygen.
