Nepal records 44 COVID-19 cases, one fatality on Tuesday

The total number of single-day infections from both the RT-PCR and antigen tests totals to 35.

KATHMANDU, MARCH 22

The national active Covid-19 caseload of Nepal climbed to 2,688 on Tuesday as 35 people tested positive for the infection in past 24 hours.

The latest reported number of infections carried the nationwide tally to 978,196 while the death toll remains at 11,951 as one fatality was recorded today.

Meanwhile, the total coronavirus recoveries stand at 963,592with 481 discharges logged today.

As per the latest data provided by the health ministry, a total of 6,594 tests were conducted in the last 24 hours of which 4,495 were PCR tests while 2,099 were antigen tests. With this, a total of 5,513,319 PCR tests have been carried out till date.

Similarly, antigen tests have confirmed nine positive cases in the past 24 hours. The total number of single-day infections from both the RT-PCR and antigen tests totals to 35.

Nepal's Covid-19 recovery rate stands at 98.5%, while the fatality rate stands at 1.2%.

Currently, there are 106 individuals in various quarantine facilities across Nepal.
