Nepal records 38 COVID-19 cases on Wednesday

The total number of single-day infections from both the RT-PCR and antigen tests totals to 38.

KATHMANDU, MARCH 23

The national active Covid-19 caseload of Nepal climbed to 2,453 on Wednesday as 34 people tested positive for the infection in past 24 hours.

The latest reported number of infections carried the nationwide tally to 978,265 while the death toll remains at 11,951 as no fatalities were recorded today.

Meanwhile, the total coronavirus recoveries stand at 963,861 with 481 discharges logged today.

As per the latest data provided by the health ministry, a total of 5,376 tests were conducted in the last 24 hours of which 3,855 were PCR tests while 1,521 were antigen tests. With this, a total of 5,517,174 PCR tests have been carried out till date.

Similarly, antigen tests have confirmed nine positive cases in the past 24 hours. The total number of single-day infections from both the RT-PCR and antigen tests totals to 38.

Nepal's Covid-19 recovery rate stands at 98.5%, while the fatality rate stands at 1.2%.

Currently, there are 106 individuals in various quarantine facilities across Nepal.
