Chinese Foreign Minister arrives in Kathmandu

KATHMANDU, MARCH 25

A high level Chinese delegation led by China's State Councilor and Minister for Foreign Affairs Wang Yi has landed in Kathmandu.

MInister Yi came to Nepal at the invitation of Minister for Foreign Affairs Dr Narayan Khadka.

The 25-member Chinese delegation landed at Tribhuvan International Airport at around 4:00 pm.

The Chinese Minister Wang Yi is scheduled to pay courtesy calls on President Bidya Devi Bhandari and Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba during his three-day visit.

Further more, the chinese state councilor will also meet with former Prime Minister and CPN (UML) Chairperson KP Sharma Oli and former Prime Minister and CPN (Maoist Centre) Chairperson Pushpa Kamal Dahal.

The Chinese Foreign Minister is scheduled to hold bilateral talks with his Nepali counterpart Dr Khadka, leading their respective delegations on March 26.

The delegation will return home on March 27, informed the MoFA.

On Thursday, Yi made a surprise stop in Kabul and met with the talibians, becoming one of the highest level visitors to Afghanistan since the Taliban's return.
