Nepal records 42 COVID-19 cases on Tuesday

The total number of single-day infections from both the RT-PCR and antigen tests totals to 42.

KATHMANDU, MARCH 29

The national active Covid-19 caseload of Nepal active caseload has dropped from 1,254 to 1,198 on Tuesday as 30 people tested positive for the infection in past 24 hours.

The latest reported number of infections carried the nationwide tally to 978,377 while the death toll remains at 11,951 as no fatalities were recorded today.

Meanwhile, the total coronavirus recoveries stand at 965,228 with 86 discharges logged today.

As per the latest data provided by the health ministry, a total of 5,471 tests were conducted in the last 24 hours of which 4,322 were PCR tests while 1,149 were antigen tests. With this, a total of 5,538,827 PCR tests have been carried out till date.

Similarly, antigen tests confirmed 12 positive cases in the past 24 hours. The total number of single-day infections from both the RT-PCR and antigen tests totals to 42.

Nepal's Covid-19 recovery rate stands at 98.7%, while the fatality rate stands at 1.2%.

Currently, there are 106 individuals in various quarantine facilities across Nepal.
