DAMAULI, APRIL 3

Nepali Congress central member Shekhar Koirala said that the country had to bear unnecessary expenditures in the name of construction of view towers. 'Budget spent on the construction of view towers should have been invested in the construction of hospitals and schools,' he said while inaugurating Simaltar Water Supply Project in Bandipur Rural Municipality, Tanahun, today.

'We said we lack money for development activities. However, we are spending money unnecessarily on building view towers. We are building welcome gates in Madhes. Such activities should be stopped.'

He asked NC leaders and cadres to ensure that the budget is spent on construction of hospitals and schools.

The NC leader said that the existing coalition would be given continuation until the May 13 local level elections.

But there is no clarity on how to move ahead with the alliance in the poll, he said.
