A strong wind destroyed houses and the roofs worth Rs 18 lakh in Dhankuta Municipality, Dhankuta, on Sunday.

The wind also damaged three agriculture farms in Chaubise Rural Municipality.

Details of the loss are being collected. Power supply in the area has been cut off as the utility poles were broken at Maunabuduk, Hameja, Syantang, Tekunala and Sangurigadhi, among other places.
