Dahal meets poll alliance leaders

CHITWAN, APRIL 26

CPN-Maoist Centre Chairperson Pushpa Kamal Dahal today held meetings with the leaders of the five-party alliance in his hometown Bharatpur.

In his brief visit to the district, the CPN-MC Chair met leaders of the Nepali Congress and CPN (Unified Socialist).

It is said that Dahal met NC Chitwan District Committee President Rajeshwor Khanal and Bharatpur Metropolitan Committee President Chitrasen Adhikari.

Adhikari is also a candidate for deputy mayor from the five-party alliance in Bharatpur Metropolitan City.

Likewise, Dahal met CPN (Unified Socialist) central committee member Krishna Khanal as well.

After the meeting, NC District Committee President Khanal said discussions were held to make the electoral alliance firm and maintain the alliance up to the ward level. He said issues would be discussed in detail after Friday.

Similarly, discussions were held regarding the candidacy of NC leader Jagannath Poudel as an independent candidate for the post of mayor in Bharatpur city.

CPN (US) leader Khanal, who is also a Bagmati Province Minister, said the Maoist chair asked to settle the alliance up to the ward level and convince disgruntled leaders.

Furthermore, Dahal met with Maoist leaders and cadres regarding plans for the local level polls there.
