Giampaolo Corona from Italy who made last contact with base camp officials late Friday evening reported that he was descending from a new route somewhere at Camp IV, sources shared. 'It seems I am now in different valley and but still don't need anybody's help,' Corona reportedly told base camp officials.

On Friday, he was spotted by an aerial search mission at around 7,400m after losing contact for over 24 hours. Corona had refused any help offered by the rescue mission, Mingma Sherpa, Chairman at Seven Summit Treks, said.

Similarly, Swedish alpinist Tim Bogdanov has also gone out contact as he made a last call from Camp IV, sources said. Tim has also climbed Mt Annapurna without using supplemental oxygen and Sherpa support.

SST Chairman Mingma Sherpa feared that something went wrong on Mt Annapurna. 'We are sure that Tim had arrived at Camp IV but Giampaolo might have descended the wrong route,' Sherpa said, adding that details were still sketchy.

A helicopter with search and rescue members has been sent to the region this morning. 'We are waiting for a call from the rescue team to know the exact status of two alpinists,' he said. Helicopter will drop a group of rescuers at Camp IV, he added.
